Jordan Vauvert La mine, c'est le lieu qui met le plus en exergue les disparités sociales : d'un côté ils sont des milliers à descendre dans les entrailles de la terre, de l'autre une poignée s'élève socialement ; d'un côté ils meurent par centaines sous l'effet des coups de grisou, de l'autre ils consolident leurs richesses. Cette dualité, elle traverse aussi Kentucky : d'un côté le black metal atmosphérique asphyxiant, de l'autre l'americana et le folklore héroïque. Panopticon est dans la lutte permanente ! Favorite track: Black Soot and Red Blood.

calibercross It's rare that an album hits me so personally. I come from a family of multiple generations of coal miners, and some of which were involved in the Coal Wars and the protests. Also, as a folk and blackmetal fan, the album feels almost as if it was made for me personally, as a love letter to my family before me, and everyone who lived and struggled in the Appalachian mines. Incredible, beautiful, and special record like none other. Favorite track: Killing the Giants as They Sleep.

Hhehktohhr ...Just taking a road trip to Kentucky, so I figured now is an appropriate time to officially add this to my playlist. Mikolaj is a real multi-talent in bass as well as guitar as well as vocals and "Darkside" Maciej's drumming is a well-calibrated 100th-of-seconds-clockwork.
