Atmospheric Black Metal Cat Fiercely and flawlessly original. Utterly incredible talent , and the kind of album that only comes along once in a while, unless your last name is Lunn. Favorite track: Killing the Giants as They Sleep.

Timothy Faust If you come out of "Kentucky" not loving black metal, maybe you never will. Favorite track: Bodies Under the Falls.

Philip Sasser I finally decided to check out Panopticon and am not disappointed. The mixture of American folk bluegrass with black metal is a unique one, and it is done expertly here. Bouncing from a lo-fi bluegrass song complete with banjo and fiddle (and actual audio clips from coal miners and their advocates) into the screams of the black metal track to follow were risky ventures — but worth it. Favorite track: Bodies Under the Falls.
